The restaurant Opened in September
2004, replacing Poach at 64b The Terrace, Ocean Grove. Situated in the
main tourist precinct, 7th Wave is the premier dining venue of Ocean Grove. A
family run business, managed by Kim & Ben Davies and the culinary skills of
Kim's mother, Dawn Roering, 7th Wave produces top quality meals, a great wine
list & a fantastic atmosphere in both summer & winter. Ben grew up on the
Bellarine Peninsula, and Kim & Dawn were both born in South Africa and have lived in
Melbourne for over 20 years...so don't be surprised to see something South
African on the menu from time to time!
The bi-fold front doors open wide
to allow a balmy summer nights breeze to drift through the restaurant, or you
can choose to be seated at one of the al fresco tables for a few drinks or a
fantastic meal on one of Ocean Groves warm summer nights. Over winter the
doors are closed and the open fire crackles away in front of the relaxing
leather couches, a great spot to sit for a quick snack, or lounge with friends &
a glass of red. If you want, even drop by for a quality, barista made
Coffee and a slice of decadent mud cake or home made slice.
Our Kitchen has an ever changing
dinner menu, and a huge variety of specials. Chef, Dawn is constantly
scouring her many recipe books for something new to put on the menu, and you can
see a large array of the books lining the shelves in the restaurant.
Specials such as Lamb Shanks with herbed tomatoes & a parmesan crust, Seared Queensland Barramundi
with prawn cream, asian style pork belly or even an
authentic curry, like the chicken & prawn evil jungle prince are just a few of
the items on the list of
specials. Breakfast is also a treat, Eggs Pontormo (Scrambled Eggs, with Basil,
Bacon Parsley & Rocket) or some of our awesome Pikelets, whipped up by master
pikelet chef, Fatos. Or if you are after something for lunch, we have a
great selection of seafood, a steak sandwich or a the famous 7th Wave Burger,
plus a huge array of weekly changing specials.
With the booming Geelong Restaurant
numbers and the huge array of local wineries on the area, 7th Wave is fast
becoming a popular destination for Melbournians and interstate visitors alike.
With the Tourist Towns of Queenscliff and Portarlington just minutes away, why not spend a great
